Gino Acevedo

Creative Art Director, Weta Digital

Gino Acevedo is a Creative Art Director at Weta, where he has worked for the past twenty-eight years. In 1998, he was invited to New Zealand to join Weta Workshop to help oversee makeup effects on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, bringing his extensive experience to train and collaborate with the team.

Since then, Gino has contributed to nearly every major production to come out of New Zealand, and in his current role at Weta Digital, he continues to push the boundaries of design technology. His credits include Alien 3, Death Becomes Her, Wolf, Men in Black, Independence Day, Godzilla, King Kong, The Hobbit, and recent works being Stranger Things, The Last of Us: TV Series and Game of Thrones.
